Though we understand that the situation around COVID-19 changes all the time, we take your health and safety seriously at Covington Family Dentistry. We believe that dental care is an essential part of taking care of your health, so we don’t recommend skipping appointments. To make sure you feel comfortable visiting our office during COVID-19, we take many precautions to ensure all of our patients and staff don’t pose a threat to one another. One of these precautions is our comprehensive COVID-19 screening each patient and employee encounters before entering the office.
The Screening Process
The COVID-19 screening process at our Covington location is not invasive and doesn’t take long. When you enter our office, here’s what you can expect:
Our front desk staff will ask you a few questions regarding your health. This may include things like:
- Have you had a fever in the last 14 days?
- Have you experienced any coughing recently?
- Have you had any flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days, like upset stomach, headache or fatigue?
- Have you had contact with anybody who’s tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
- Have you traveled out of the country in the last 14 days?
- Have you recently experienced any loss of taste or smell?
- Taking Your Temperature
Our staff will then take your temperature, as well as the temperature of anybody with you. If your temperature is running hot, we may ask you to reschedule your appointment in the interest of safety.
General Wellness Check
We will take note of your general health, mostly making sure you don’t exhibit any coughing, fever or shortness of breath. If you are having noticeable respiratory issues, we may ask you to reschedule your appointment just in case.
More Ways We’re Keeping You Safe
While vaccines are not mandatory for patients or employees, we encourage you to consider getting the COVID-19 vaccine if possible. We also encourage the continued usage of masks while in our lobby, conversing with staff, and waiting for your dental treatment. Our staff regularly performs a thorough sanitization of all common areas.
Each treatment station is sanitized after every patient, and our tools always undergo a professional sterilization after use. We are keeping a close watch on the COVID-19 situation and will always update our patients when protocol changes at our office. The health and safety of our patients and employees is our number one priority.
